Gut Health and Digestion - Food Sensitivities, Acid Reflux, GI Disorders (Colitis, Diverticulitis, IBS) Candida/Parasites/SIBO, Bloating, Constipation

You don’t have to live with GI symptoms or food sensitivities anymore!  As Hippocrates said, “All Disease Begins in the Gut”!  Your digestive tract can be re-balanced and restored so that it can be the source of health and not disease.  Listen to the warning signs that your gut is telling you and give it the support it really needs.

Detoxification - Optimizing your Detox Pathways, Liver Detox, True Cellular Detox Program

Your body has built in mechanisms for detoxifying the myriad of toxins that you are exposed to everyday, but they often aren’t functioning well for the majority of people due to nutritional deficiencies.  A body that detoxifies properly is able to prevent the onset of diseases like cancer, Alzheimers and more. Learn what nutrients are needed to fuel your detox pathways and support your liver.  The True Cellular Detox program and the IonCleanse Foot Detox Bath are both safe, easy and effective ways to take detoxification to a higher level and reach the brain where the majority of toxins are stored.

Mental Wellness - ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Mood, Memory Loss and TBI/Concussion

Physical health is completely intertwined with your mental wellness and nutrition is a gateway that will enable you to heal.  Research has revealed that many mental health conditions often have biomedical or physiological causes that contribute to symptoms, from nutritional deficiencies to high toxicity levels to chronic GI infections.  There are safer and more effective solutions for mental wellness beyond medication.

Allergic and Immune System Conditions - Food Allergies, Asthma, Environmental Allergies, EoE, Autoimmune Disease

The key to overcoming allergic conditions lie in the gut!  Yes, 80% of your immune system is in your GI tract!  Providing your immune system the nutrients it needs and creating a healthy balance of gut flora is the foundation for reversing allergic conditions.

Steps to Getting Started as a Client

Step 1: Schedule a Free 20-Minute Consultation

Do you have questions about whether Nutritional Therapy is a “right fit” for you?   Schedule this complimentary 20 minute 1:1 virtual chat (phone or via video conferencing with Zoom) with me to share your health concerns/goals and learn about my approach to support you.  This is a great opportunity to connect with me, ask questions and see if working with me may be a good fit for you.

Step 2: New Client Session

This is a comprehensive 1.5 hour session in which I will meet with you via video conferencing on Zoom.  I will present to you a Customized Client Plan based on your personal health goals and observations from your intake paperwork about contributing root causes to your symptoms/health conditions.  Consider this session as a big picture overview or road map of how I will support you towards your desired health outcomes.  This New Client Session also includes education about your body and health condition and a time to connect and ask questions.

*Note – In order to be fully prepared for clients in their New Client Session, all intake paperwork is completed and returned 1 week prior to this session.  New Client paperwork includes a comprehensive health history and goals document, a female/male or pediatric specific history document, a 3-day food and mood journal, the online Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) and Client Agreement.

Step 3: Session Packages

At the conclusion of the New Client Session, the next step is to decide if you want to continue to move forward in working with me to implement the goals and strategies outlined in your Customized Client Plan.  You will have an opportunity to purchase an 8 or 12 session package upfront for better savings or pay session to session. Each session is 50 minutes in length.  Due to the nature of Nutritional Therapy supporting you to achieve long-term sustainable change, it takes time on your part to learn this information, walk through the dietary and lifestyle changes and work to re-balance your body systems.  The good news is that I will provide you plenty of knowledge, support and encouragement along the way to achieving your health goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do I take insurance?

Nope!  That is why you get the level of personalized care that I am able to offer.  Unfortunately, insurance companies do not cover the services of a Nutritional Therapist (if they did, they could save a lot of money in the long-term!).  However, you can use your FSA/HSA money for the New Client Session, Session Packages and for purchasing supplements through the online nutritional supplement platform offered for clients.

  2. What is your philosophy on nutritional supplements?

I believe in quality, professional grade nutritional supplementation as a way to accelerate the healing and rebalancing of the body.  I utilize nutritional supplementation effectively with clients to support their genetic weaknesses, lifestyle challenges or any restrictions with their diet to provide their body the nutrients it needs to function at its best.

My goal with nutritional supplementation is to use it as a short-term bridge to accelerate healing and rebalancing the body.  This means more supplementation for a shorter time frame to shift the body (think of it as re-modeling your house).  I do not believe in just putting clients on a bunch of supplements for life.  The more dietary and lifestyle changes that a client is willing to make, the less they will need nutritional supplementation.  I am committed to helping my clients resolve health issues so they don’t need to be on loads of supplementation or medication long-term.

  3. What is the best session package for me?

My average client achieves their health goals in about 1 year, which would make the 12-session package the best financial decision.  Many clients with complex or chronic health conditions purchase additional session packages to continue working towards freedom from their health conditions. The average price per session is the most economical with the 12-session package compared to buying the 8 session package or buying one session at a time.  There is significant variability with how long it takes to achieve desired outcomes as it depends on what your health goals are and how quickly you are able to implement change.   For clients who have multiple health conditions, multiple health goals, or who want to work at a slower pace, they partner with me for 2 years or more.

  4. How can I get the best outcomes?

Take one step forward at a time.  This is more of a marathon than a sprint, so pace yourself to implement each of the recommended changes after each session.  Everyone can take one step forward and make progress with a variety of budgets and life situations.  This is an investment of your time, money and energy, so give it all you have to make a positive difference in your health.  Clients who are committed to the process and see this as a valuable investment will have better outcomes.  Another factor that makes a difference with outcomes is clients who pay attention to how they are feeling, make observations, listen to their body and report back to me with details.  If you think of my role as a detective, the more clues you can give me, the more I can help you make progress.

  5. What type of assessments and testing do you utilize?

I utilize the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) with every client.  This is an excellent tool to evaluate the health of various organ & body systems along with nutritional deficiencies.  The questions examine the signs and symptoms connected to underlying foundational organ system dysfunction.  The NAQ offers the most comprehensive nutritional analysis application available with a personalized print-out and graph of the client’s areas of greatest concern.  This assessment helps to uncover areas of imbalance in the body and how to prioritize the areas of greatest need for intervention.  Clients take the NAQ as part of their intake paperwork and also repeat it throughout working together as a tool to track progress.

There are other specialized tests that I utilize with clients depending on their health concerns, goals and symptoms such as:

    • Food Sensitivity Testing – this can be done through a finger prick or blood draw (various immune responses – IgG, Complement, IgG4 and IgE)

    • Gut Health & Digestion Testing - this is a stool test to assess levels of beneficial bacteria, parasites, yeast overgrowth and pathogenic bacteria plus digestion, immune and inflammatory markers.  It also has a specific immune marker for gluten and a biomarker called Zonulin that tests for intestinal permeability (leaky gut).

    • Organic Acids Testing - this urine test has markers for bacterial/yeast overgrowth, neurotransmitter imbalances and nutrient deficiencies.

    • Mycotoxin Testing

    • Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis

    • Blood Markers Testing – there are many conventional lab testing markers that can provide insight into your health status.

    • Toxicity Levels Testing - this is a combo of a urine test for cellular inflammation, a questionnaire + a VCS tool that I manually use to examine the eye as an indicator of toxins in the brain.
